The Michigan Bureau of Elections will be mailing ballot applications that you will need to complete and return to become an absentee voter. Once you fill out the application and return it, you will receive your ballot for the May 5, 2020 election. One of the items you will see on your ballot is the county-wide Enhancement Millage renewal. This Enhancement Millage renewal is a vital part of our school district’s budget. It provides about $364 per student to our general fund budget. In Portage, that means an additional $3.2 million dollars in revenue to support our students. Building the Future of Learning – Elementary Based on input from a series of community dialogues last year, PPS staff, Board of Trustees, and community members have developed ideas for creating 21st-Century Elementary Schools in Portage. Now, we need to hear from you (even if you don’t currently have a student in school). Please TAKE THE SURVEY between March 16 and March 27, 2020. The survey is now closed.
